As of 2 p.m. Saturday, the center of the storm was inland over South Carolina, moving northeast toward North Carolina at a speed of 7 mph, the NHC said. The storm is producing heavy rains and strong winds along and off the North Carolina coast. A tropical storm warning has been issued for North of Little River, South Carolina, to Duck, North Carolina. Pamlico Sound is also included in the advisory. That means tropical storm conditions are expected somewhere within the warning area, in this case within 24 hours, the NHC said. Residents south of Duck should make efforts to protect property from wind damage. Maximum winds remain at 40 mph. There&#8217;s also a possibility for tornado formation.
